GPA scale chart

The 4.0 scale in one table. Use the calculator to work out your own GPA.

Short answer. On the common 4.0 scale, A is 4.0, A- is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0, C is 2.0, D is 1.0 and F is 0. A plus or minus moves the value by about 0.3.

How to read the chart

Find your letter grade in the table. The next column is the GPA points for that grade. The last column is the percent range most schools use.

This chart counts A+ as 4.0, the same as A. Some schools give A+ 4.3. Honors and AP classes may add 0.5 or 1.0 at some schools. Use the high school calculator for that.
