Short answer. On the common scale, 93-100% is an A (4.0), 90-92% is an A- (3.7), 87-89% is a B+ (3.3) and 83-86% is a B (3.0). Your school may use different cut-offs.
The conversion table
This is the common US scale that the tool uses. A decimal like 89.6% is treated as 89, which is the usual rule when a teacher does not round up.
| Letter | Percent | GPA |
|---|---|---|
| A | 93–100 | 4.0 |
| A- | 90–92 | 3.7 |
| B+ | 87–89 | 3.3 |
| B | 83–86 | 3.0 |
| B- | 80–82 | 2.7 |
| C+ | 77–79 | 2.3 |
| C | 73–76 | 2.0 |
| C- | 70–72 | 1.7 |
| D+ | 67–69 | 1.3 |
| D | 63–66 | 1.0 |
| D- | 60–62 | 0.7 |
| F | below 60 | 0.0 |
Your school may set different lines. A few schools give an A for 90 and above, or have no plus and minus grades.
