Short answer. Type a word and the tool says if it is in the word list used by many word games. A word not in this list may still be valid in your game, so check its rules.
What the answer means
A green tick means the word is in the list. A red cross means it is not. It does not mean the word is wrong in everyday English. Names, new words and slang are often missing.
Different games and dictionaries accept different words. If a game matters, check its own rules.
The words come from the ENABLE list, a public-domain word list used in many word games. Other dictionaries differ a little, so a game may accept or reject a few words that this list does not.
Worked example
Example. zax is in the list. xyz is not. qi is accepted in some newer dictionaries, but this older list does not have it.
Questions
Can I check many words at once?
Yes. Put one word on each line, or separate them with spaces or commas. The tool checks up to 200.
Is this an official game dictionary?
No. It is a general public-domain word list. It is a good guide, but not the official list of any game.
Does it check spelling?
It tells you if a word is in the list. It does not suggest fixes.
